Project Description and Activities
During this assignment, the consulting firm carried out a comprehensive set of activities aimed at harmonizing and optimizing the deployment of broadband infrastructures across the continent.
- Analysis of FTTH technology deployment in Africa and identification of key challenges.
- Development of comprehensive guidelines and policies for network infrastructure protection.
- Establishment of construction codes to ensure quality and safety in FTTH deployment.
- Formulation of regulations and technical standards specific to the deployment and operation of FTTH infrastructures.
- Development of best practice models for collaborative construction to optimize resources and reduce duplication.
- Definition of next-generation universal service obligations to ensure equitable broadband access, particularly in underserved areas.
- Proposal of a roadmap for implementing infrastructure-sharing mechanisms to encourage efficiency and competition.
