Project Description and Objectives

The general objective of this project is to develop a mobile broadband network plan leveraging IMT 2020 (5G and beyond) in Burkina Faso. This mission aims to identify the most suitable use cases in the Burkinabe context and develop a strategic development plan for five (05) and ten (10) years.

Specific Objectives:

• Opportunities Analysis: Highlight the opportunities offered by these new technologies and lessons from “first enablers” regarding strategy and best practices.
• Sectoral Challenges and Ambitions: Identify, after analyzing the current situation, the challenges to overcome and feasible ambitions for each socio-economic sector of Burkina Faso (Education, Health, Agriculture, and Energy) over five (05) and ten (10) years.
• Strategic Framing: Develop a strategic note on vision, ambitions, and key reforms to facilitate the introduction of IMT 2020 networks.
• Five- and Ten-Year Roadmap: Develop the IMT 2020 network development plan in Burkina Faso over five (05) and ten (10) years.
• Economic and Financial Analysis: Conduct a precise economic and financial assessment aligned with national standards.
• Pilot Activity: Conduct a detailed techno-economic and environmental feasibility study for a pilot activity to be identified in one of the key socio-economic sectors (Education, Health, Agriculture, or Energy).
• Implementation Strategy: Propose the implementation strategy for the IMT 2020 development plan.
