The WH-1000XM5 headphones from Sony are the latest upgrade to their best-in-class noise cancellation line-up. They feature a new design, upgraded ANC, and many of the same features as their predecessors, but with better materials and slightly higher-quality sound.

You can also swipe forward to listen to the next track and reverse to hear the previous track. The headphones can connect to two devices simultaneously and will automatically stop playback when you remove them from your head due to the built-in sensor. You can enable the ambient mode by placing your hand on the right ear cup. This lets you hear the sounds around you without having to take off the headphones.

Other features that are useful include the ability to pair them with your voice assistant, Bluetooth low-energy, and support for high-resolution audio (via LDAC). The memory foam earcups fit comfortably but not too tightly on the cranium. The new design and shape took a long time to perfect, providing an incredibly comfortable clamping force that isn't too hard even on my own rotund cranium.

They are 2 ounces lighter (or supersweetcorn.bizvion.kr 307g) and a little thinner than the Sony WH1000XM5. With a neutral sound profile, the HD 800 S reproduces natural instruments and vocals, though they are somewhat light on bass. This is due to the open-back design creates a large and out-of-head passive soundstage. The treble is excellent, with minor drops and peaks. The treble area is very linear, so you'll not have issues piercing sibilants and the upper sound of a drum snare.

They can still provide impact and dynamism when required, despite the absence of a loud low-end. They will still be enjoyable for those who love listening to rock music with strong basslines, however they may not sound like some of the other models on this list, such as the HiFiMan Arya.
